Why this blog and why now
January 26th, 2009 by ktrippeI decided to write this blog after a conversation with Bruce Goldberg at the Denver Business Journal. We were discussing the state of marketing in Colorado, and I mentioned that Colorado lacks corporate headquarters, which is where marketing and communications departments are typically located. Without headquarters, Colorado has a hard time training marketing people outside of a few industries.
After thinking over this conversation, I decided to start this blog to give marketing people a forum for gathering information and asking questions. I have been fortunate in my career to mentor many people who have gone on to great futures. After you’ve spent as many years as I have in this field, helping a colleague move to the next level is one of the few perks you have left.
My goal is to update this blog weekly with information pulled from headlines, recent topics and personal case studies that readers may find interesting.
The key to an informative blog is feedback. I look forward to hearing from you and developing relationships with marketing people from all industries and all parts of the globe.
Happy Reading!
