How social is your company?

Traditional technology communications changed substantially in 2008. Leading publications such as InfoWorld and PC Magazine stopped their printing presses and moved to the online world. Word on the street is that the analyst firms are laying off which may close that communications door as well.

The changes going on put the customer in more control than ever before. He or she can pick and chose which communication they like best thus making it harder than ever for a communicator to get a product or company message through.

Social Media Relations promotes communications every where on the web. It’s a way to communicate through blogs, Twitter, YouTube – anything that is Internet-based.

Marketing people should take a hard look at is how many agencies they are using for web-based work. You need to make sure that all your marketing is integrated so that a web development team isn’t sending out one message and your PR firm is sending out another. In the web-based world it’s even easier to check information companies are disbursing for truthfulness. The moment a prospect sees inconsistencies they’ll turn away.

If you have a marketing area you’d like to chat about, please let me know.
